Describe

Ta Phin Village is located in Sa Pa Town, about 12 km northeast of the town center, inhabited by two ethnic groups: the Dao and the Mông. The scenery here is a perfect blend of lush terraced fields, vast bamboo forests, and floating mist, creating a magnificent picture of the Northwest mountains. Ta Phin is not only an ideal destination for those who love ecotourism but also a place to experience the impressive interaction between humans and nature.

With a tradition of hard work and diligence, the ethnic communities here are united in building Ta Phin into a more civilized and prosperous commune. When you visit Ta Phin, you will immerse yourself in a stunning landscape featuring Ta Phin Cave and shimmering terraced fields that gleam like gold against the vast and majestic hills. It feels like a “paradise,” incredibly peaceful and poetic, complemented by the warmth and friendliness of the local people.

You will also have the chance to experience the traditional cultural space, rich in the cultural identity of the Red Dao and Mông ethnic groups, with various ceremonies such as weddings, village worship, and the “cap sac” ritual. You can witness the beautiful folk songs, traditional dances, and festivals, such as the “Bai Tram” dance and the Mông's swearing-in ceremonies and village worships, all of which captivate the heart.

Moreover, when you come to Ta Phin, you will get to enjoy the traditional cuisine of the locals, with famous dishes like smoked pork, dried buffalo meat, and herbal chicken. Don’t miss out on the herbal baths, which are among the most notable traditional products of the Red Dao people. Using a variety of rare herbs found in the vast mountains, the Dao people in Ta Phin have created herbal infusions for bathing that are both relaxing and beneficial for health. This is an experience you cannot miss when visiting Ta Phin.

Additionally, you can explore and learn how to make traditional brocade, embroider patterns, and directly practice the processes of weaving, fabric dyeing, and creating wax prints on brocade with the Mông people, as well as experience the process of making drums with the Red Dao.
