Gau Tao event, also known as Sai San Festival, is a traditional Mong event held on the first days of spring. This is the Mong people's most important festival. The Gau Tao celebration is a celebration of self-reflection and peace-making. Because the organization not only prays for good luck for the celebrant but also for the festival attendees, it frequently draws a large crowd.


The Gau Tao Festival also provides an opportunity for the Hmong community and other ethnic groups to exchange goods and services, for boys and girls to meet, and for everyone to recuperate and prepare for the new productive labor season. From traditional musical instruments to folk melodies, folk songs, and folk sports, the Mong people have a rich and distinct treasure trove of heritage.
