The ceremony of grown-up worshiping

The ceremony of grown-up worshiping is one of the main rituals with humane values and imbued with the unique cultural identity of the Dao people. Traditionally, a young Dao boy must be educated and trained in many aspects to be the mainstay of his family, parentage and community. Their qualities are tested through the worshiping ceremony.

After such ceremony, a Dao boy is considered an adult. Those who have passed the tests, even if they are children, are still considered adults and will be able to sit with the village elders, participate in worshiping or help the shamans in other ceremonies of family and community.
